Bio
He began practicing Capoeira in France as a teenager alongisde his brother “Biribi”, a teacher of Capoeira Angola at the Arco Iris Group. It was in 2005-2006 that he decided to join the Capoeira Brasil Group where at the age of 19 under the guidance of Mestre Paulinho Sabia he began to practice Capoeira Regional. Trained by Mestre Zamis and Mestre Azul, then Professor Gaviao. Instrutor Predador heads to Canada for the first time in 2008 for studies, returning in 2012 where he has the pleasure of meeting Formando Mortal who becomes his teacher. Under Mortal he perfects his Capoeira and his vision of the game and advanced techniques while traveling to Brazil together. Since then they've developed an affinity for Capoeira and have continued to help spread the word and develop the Group Capoeira Brasil in Quebec.
Arriving in Montreal with the blue/red cord and already prepared to teach Capoeira in Paris, it was in 2020, shortly before the pandemic, that he decided to open a Group Capoeira Brasil academy in Montreal's Villeray district. In 2017 he obtained his blue instructor's rope in Canada under the supervision of Formando Mortal and obtained his green rope in 2022 at the international festival in June.
Committed to transmitting the philosophy and culture of Capoeira to Montreal and the world, his teaching approach aims to inspire his students to go beyond the simple physical practice of Capoeira to explore the rich history and culture of this Brazilian “art de vivre”. In collaboration with the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc Extension borough he participates in the “Nos voisins sont des artistes” project, which aims to promote local artists. He created the blog CapoeirArtdeVivre to talk about Capoeira in all its forms. He has composed a dozen inspirational Capoeira songs and has travelled to many countries to perform Capoeira: Europe, North America, the Caribbean, Asia and Africa. In his first Capoeira competition he won two medals at Capoeira Malês' “Toronto jogos” for the quality of his playing.
Today, he teaches all levels from beginners to advanced practitioners in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere at 8400 boul. Saint-Laurent and at Patro Villeray. Thanks to his years of experience as an instructor he has created an environment where everyone can grow, learn and excel.
